Crivella

Knowledge Engineering for High-Stakes Decision Environments

Expert judgment, captured once.
Applied to every decision.

Your most experienced people can't be on every case, plan, or filing — but their judgment can. Crivella captures it once so anyone can produce work at their level, with a complete, auditable record of who decided what, and why.

Twenty-Five Years of National-Scale AI

We're not new to AI. We've been making AI work at a national level since 2001 — for the canonization of John Henry Newman, the Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum, the Marine Corps, and 80+ federal multi-district litigations.

Newman Canonization

A global research platform for the Roman Catholic Church.

Gettysburg Museum

Knowledge systems for the National Park Service's battlefield museum.

Marine Corps

Depot modernization preserving critical defense capability under BRAC.

80+ Federal MDLs

400,000+ claimants, under federal protective order — Roundup, pelvic mesh, and more.

The Problem

Knowledge walks out the door.

Your most experienced people carry the judgment that makes a plan sound, a filing defensible, a decision right. When they retire, move, or leave, that judgment leaves with them — and the organization pays to learn it again, the hard way. This is knowledge churn, and it is one of the largest unmeasured costs in any expertise-driven firm.

Meanwhile the work bottlenecks on the few experts who still hold it. Less-experienced practitioners wait, or guess. Quality swings with whoever happens to be in the room.

The Approach

A system of record for decisions.

Every organization has a system of record for its data. Crivella builds the system of record for its decisions. Expert judgment is captured once — as catalogued, reliability-graded Knowledge Objects — and put to work on every decision after. A less-experienced engineer or associate produces work at the level of your most senior people: faster, more consistent, under tighter control.

And because every decision is recorded — who contributed, when, on what basis, and why — that speed costs you nothing in accountability. You cannot hold an AI accountable. You can keep a person accountable, and prove it. The record makes the new way of working more auditable than the old way ever was.

Faster, more consistent, more controlled — with accountability that gets stronger, not weaker.

Crivella

Who

Which expert, which agent, under whose authority — every contribution attributed to a named source.

When

The full sequence of a decision — every question, answer, and alternative — reconstructable years later.

How

What was in view, what was considered, what was set aside — each source reliability-graded, none of it guessed.

Why

The rationale a reviewer, regulator, or board will ask for — captured at the moment, not reconstructed after.

Where This Works

One discipline. Many high-stakes domains.

The same engine, configured to each domain through its Coding Manual. Two are proven at scale.

Litigation

Intelligence on production day.

For plaintiff lead counsel and MDL leadership. Grounded intelligence deployed against the produced record the day it arrives — case-relevant evidence with full citation traceability, before the defense expects it. Proven across 80+ multi-district litigations and 400,000+ claimants.

Capital Projects

Your practice, in everyone's hands.

For the engineers and capital teams who already know their work. Crivella captures your practice and puts it in everyone's hands — guided, interview-style planning that turns expert judgment into consistent execution plans, configured for your workflow and ratified by your practice leads.

Capital Project Intelligence →

The same architecture extends to any work examined later — regulatory submissions, underwriting, compliance, and defense among them.

Why Crivella

Two Inventions. One Platform.

Crivella has been making AI work on national-scale information problems since 2001 — the year Arthur R. Crivella filed the first of two United States patents (US 6,883,008, then US 7,779,007) for what the industry now calls retrieval-augmented generation with provenance. Invented before transformers, before GPT, before the current wave began.

Crivella authored the production standard that became the foundation of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model — the de facto standard for electronic evidence in nearly every federal civil case in the country. We have reinvented an information-intensive industry once. We are doing it again, in capital projects and beyond.

Patented since 2001

Two granted US patents — the multimedia knowledge substrate (2001) and the engineered-relevance Context Collection (2007, active through ~2028).

Production-deployed

A working platform — the Grounded Intelligence Console — running today against hundreds of millions of pages, not a prototype.
